Frequently Asked Questions

What machines can a telehandler replace on my farm?

A telehandler is the ‘Swiss Army knife’ of machinery, replacing loaders or forklifts for shifting pallets, loaders for shifting bales or loading silage wagons, a skid steer or manual labour for cleaning out wintering barns or ladders/boom lifts for working at heights — all with the correct range of attachments.

Which machine is best for my operation?

Webbline’s knowledgeable product specialists combined with a wealth of practical experience can help you select the correct DIECI telehandler tailored to your specific needs. Factors like load capacity, vertical and horizontal reach, terrain conditions, and required attachments are key to finding the right DIECI telehandler for your tasks.

What attachments are available for telehandlers?

Telehandlers can be equipped with a wide range of attachments to suit different tasks, including, silage grabs, bucket brushes, grapple buckets, pallet forks, gravel buckets, or work platforms to name a few. These versatile, customisable options make telehandlers ideal for lifting, loading, site cleaning, working at heights, and moving raw materials.

How easy are DIECI telehandlers to use? Who can operate them?

DIECI telehandlers are designed with intuitive controls and advanced safety systems, including load moment indicators and 360° visibility, ensuring alignment with New Zealand’s health and safety standards. With proper training, any staff member can operate them efficiently - Webbline can assist with organising training if required.

What training or certification is required for telehandler operators in New Zealand?

Operators need NZQA certification (e.g., Unit Standards 23637 or 23966), and may require forklift or EWP certification for specific tasks. A driver’s licence is essential for road use. Webbline can assist with training and certifications through recommended providers. Learn more at NZQA Unit Standards.

What are the key safety regulations for telehandler use in New Zealand?

Telehandlers must comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, which requires proper equipment maintenance, operator training, and risk management. Operators should also follow WorkSafe NZ’s Good Practice Guidelines for Safe Use of Machinery and adhere to Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) for load-lifting and elevated work platforms. Visit WorkSafe NZ for more information.
